Our Business

The steelpan is the only acoustic instrument family invented in the twentieth century. It is formed by sinking a fifty gallon oildrum and tuning chiselled sections on the curved surface to produce a variety of musical notes.

At Tommy Crichlow, we fill a very unique niche in the international steelpan music community. Please see a brief biography of Tommy and his notable qualifications as a musician, historian, adjudicator, steelpan builder, arranger and player. Tommy has responded to the call to produce professional and educational grade steelpan instrumentd and the the main reason why Tommy founded this business.

In My Own Words

I am one of a few steelpan builders located in Canada. I was born in Tunapuna, Trinidad and have been involved in music since I was nine years old. Because of my years involved in steelpan, I am known throughout the steelpan world as a builder, tuner, arranger and adjudicator.

I would like to welcome everyone to my website to offer my products in the steelpan marketplace, and the connect with the lovers of this wonderful Caribbean artform.
